Siding Project Update

Dear Homeowner,
A quick update on our siding project:

Columbus Exteriors began the actual siding process on Building #1 Wednesday, August 18th. They have essentially completed Building #1 and have made good progress on Buildings #3 and 4. They started on Building #2 today and plan to started Building #5 this week.

Mark, the Project Manager, stated they planned to start buildings in the #6-11 range, having to choose which buildings to work on based on available materials. They will follow the Association building numbering as best they can, depending on the availability of materials. Due to the delay in starting this project the crews may work until 7:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and they may also work on Saturdays.

Mark has reminded us that a few days prior to starting on a building, Columbus will place a notice on the homeowner’s doors with specific instructions to facilitate the process and with his contact information. We remind homeowners that when their building is being sided it is essentially a construction site. We ask that homeowners watch for nails and other debris in the driveways and lawn that may have been missed by the crew.

Our New Light

The new outside lights and address placard will be installed by Columbus Exteriors as the building are completed.

The Board has approved a contractor for the painting of the garage doors and storm doors. All storm doors and garage doors that are not currently white will be painted white to coordinate with the new siding. If you as a homeowner are planning to replace your storm door or garage door at this time, please submit a completed Architectural Approval Form for the project. An ARC form MUST be submitted and approved prior to the completion of any changes to exterior details (front doors, storm doors, windows, sliding doors, garage doors). All replacement storm doors and garage doors must be white.

Other projects on the docket for completion this year are replacement of the final 2 driveways, miscellaneous cement work, and the replacement of the four stoops on Building #11.

The Board is excited about the updated look our buildings will have following completion of the siding project.  We believe that the replacement of the siding and the refreshed look of our Association will benefit all homeowners and residents.  Further information will be provided by the Board or the contractor, Columbus Exteriors as the project progresses.  Information can also be found on the Association website: ForestOaksMN.com
